Anniversary

Please, let's all take a moment today to think about and remember.....and if you want, please pray with me for the victims and the families and friends of everyone who died that day.

It's been 7 years, but it still brings tears to my eyes, just thinking about it.

I was a teacher in NC when it happened. I had to look into the eyes of children, not knowing what to say as they cried and looked to adults around them for reassurance. It was hard to hide from them how scared I was. I probably didn't do a very good job. How do you explain something like that to innocent kids? It was a day full of shock, hopelessness and horror. I can only imagine what it must have been like for those who experienced the chaos, terror and sadness more closely to home. God bless them.

I have been counting the flags all day, the ones in people's yards, the ones at half-mast at government buildings and businesses. There was so much pain caused by this day. It is comforting to know that on this day we all connect as a country in remembering!

Amen!

Great post. Yes, it's been tough dealing with the memories of that awful day. May God continue to bless and protect our country.

You did the best you could. I don't think any of us knew what to do or say that day and I think the children knowing you were just as scared as they were probably helped more than you know.

Thank you for posting this! For some reason, yesterday just felt like "another day", and IMO, I dont think 9-11 should EVER EVER EVER feel like "just another day."

Alex and I were watching a documentary last night and they showed this one part where the firemen were calling their family members to tell them that they were alright. When they asked the one fireman if he wanted to call his family, he said "they are all dead." The saddest thing I have ever seen.
