I decided to take a break from all my stressful moving duties and started looking for something to make me laugh.
I found a website that I can't believe I have never heard of: Stuff White People Like. It is a riot. Ever wonder why we like Farmer's Markets? Or Girls With Bangs? Or why we are ok with Taking a Year Off? This website explains (in a tongue-in-cheek way) why white people act the way they do. It's been very enlightening thus far. I'm learning a lot about myself. Because I'm about as white as it gets.
And of course, I am relying on my old stand-bys for a Friday afternoon laugh: FAIL blog, Engrish and LOL Dogs. If you don't know these, you can do a google search for them.
But what I really want to share with you is this video my coworker sent to me today. It's about the whole digital tv deadline in a few weeks. You know -- regular tvs won't work anymore and we all have to get digital cable or converter boxes, yada yada. OMG I was crying laughing at this. I watched it twice it was so funny. Enjoy, y'all. And have a great weekend!!!

Fun Fall Stuff!
Fall is such a fun and exciting season. You have cooler weather, beautiful leaves, Halloween, yummy apples, football, school starts...and this year, we have the election to boot.
Although we are still wearing flip-flops and dealing with 90 degree temperatures here in SC as we watch the weather report closely (Hurricane Ike is a Category 4 -- EEK!), I can tell that fall is coming. I can't wait to put on boots and turtlenecks.
I'm rambling. What I wanted to share with you today are some fun things I have found on the Internet, and they all happen to be fall-related. Here goes.
Back to School: Ever wonder what your hair would have looked like if you were in an old yearbook? Go to Yearbook Yourself and see what you would have looked like back in the day. I was crying laughing at this site, y'all. It is hysterical. Even funnier when I used CN's photo and saw what he would have looked like in the male photos. Don't forget to save the pics and email them to your friends. This is my favorite site, I swear.
Election: Is anyone else thinking that Sarah Palin is a dead ringer for Tina Fey? Cuz I am! Check out this photo:
I hope SNL jumps on this ASAP. Is Tina guest hosting any time soon? I'm sure the writers could come up with something. If not Palin, Tina could also do a fantastic Winona. Check this one out:
They could all be sisters!
Football: First of all, I would like to say how freakin' awesome it was that Alabama beat Clemson this past weekend. Not only do I not like Clemson, but I am a huge Alabama fan. Roll Tide!!!! I am hoping that Nick Saban can lead the Tide to a winning season this year. After so many heartbreaks in the last few years, it's nice to see this happen. :) My whole family is full of Tide fans. Not only did my dad attend Bama and play for Bear, but he also used to teach there. He remembered seeing Joe Namath throwing a football around in the school cafeteria!
And now, The Czarina is starting to become a South Carolina fan, although this is more to do with her 40-year-long crush on Steve Spurrier than anything else. Every time I bring up his name, I have to listen to her say, "Oh, I have had the hots for him since he was a quarterback for Florida!" -- she's such a dork.
Oh, but what I was going to say.......The Czarina sent me this funny email, describing the differences between college football down south vs. college football up north. It was too good not to share. (I have added a little bit myself!):
Planning for the fall football season in the South is radically different than up North. For those who are planning a football trip South, here are some helpful hints.
Women's Accessories:
NORTH: Chap Stick in back pocket and a $20 bill in the front pocket. Wear jeans & sweatshirt.
SOUTH: Louis Vuitton duffel with two lipsticks, waterproof mascara, and a fifth of bourbon. Money not necessary - that's what dates are for. Wear cocktail dress in team colors, complete with coordinating heels and sterling silver jewelry with team mascot charms.
Stadium Size:
NORTH: College football stadiums hold 20,000 people.
SOUTH: High school football stadiums hold 20,000 people. College football stadiums can hold the entire population of certain small countries.
Fathers:
NORTH: Expect their daughters to understand Sylvia Plath.
SOUTH: Expect their daughters to understand pass interference.
Campus Decor:
NORTH: Statues of founding fathers.
SOUTH: Statues of Heisman trophy winners.
Homecoming Queen:
NORTH: Also a physics major.
SOUTH: Also Miss America.
Heroes:
NORTH: Rudy Giuliani
SOUTH: Herschel Walker & Peyton Manning
Getting Tickets:
NORTH: 5 days before the game you walk into the ticket office on campus.
SOUTH: 5 months before the game you walk into the ticket office on campus, make a large financial contribution, and put name on a waiting list for tickets.
Friday Classes After a Thursday Night Game:
NORTH: Students and teachers not sure they're going to the game, because they have classes on Friday.
SOUTH: Teachers cancel Friday classes because they don't want to see the few hung over students that might actually make it to class.
Parking:
NORTH: An hour before game time, the University opens the campus for game parking.
SOUTH: RVs sporting their school flags begin arriving on Wednesday for the weekend festivities. The really faithful arrive on Tuesday.
Game Day:
NORTH: A few students party in the dorm and watch ESPN on TV.
SOUTH: Every student wakes up, has a beer for breakfast, and rushes over to where ESPN is broadcasting "Game Day Live" to get on camera and wave to the idiots up north who wonder why "Game Day Live" is never Broadcast from their campus.
Tailgating:
NORTH: Raw meat on a grill, beer with lime in it, listening to local radio station with truck tailgate down.
SOUTH: 30-foot custom pig-shaped smoker fires up at dawn. Cooking accompanied by live performance from the Dave Matthews Band... who come over during breaks and ask for a hit off bottle of bourbon. A 16-hour day of eating and drinking takes place, followed by a giant bonfire at midnight.
Getting to the Stadium:
NORTH: You ask "Where's the stadium?" When you find it, you walk right in.
SOUTH: When you're near it, you'll hear it. On game day it is the state's third largest city. Game days are responsible for approximately 25% of the college town's economy.
Concessions:
NORTH: Drinks served in a paper cup, filled to the top with soda.
SOUTH: Drinks served in a plastic cup, with the home team's mascot on it, filled less than half way with soda, to ensure enough room for bourbon.
When National Anthem is Played:
NORTH: Stands are less than half full, and less than half of them stand up.
SOUTH: 100,000 fans, all standing, sing along in perfect four-part harmony.
The Smell in the Air After the First Score:
NORTH: Nothing changes.
SOUTH: Fireworks, with a touch of bourbon.
Commentary (Male):
NORTH: "Nice play."
SOUTH: "Dammit, you slow sumb**ch - tackle him and break his legs."
Commentary (Female):
NORTH: "My, this certainly is a violent sport."
SOUTH: "Dammit, you slow sumb***h - tackle him and break his legs."
Announcers:
NORTH: Neutral and paid.
SOUTH: Announcer harmonizes with the crowd in the fight song, with a tear in his eye because he is so proud of his team. He is the 3rd generation announcer for the team. But you probably knew that already, because there's a bronze statue of his grandfather by the press box.
After the Game:
NORTH: The stadium is empty way before the game ends.
SOUTH: Another rack of ribs goes on the smoker, while somebody goes to the nearest package store for more bourbon, and planning begins for next week's game.
Sundays:
NORTH: Sleep in or go to church. Don't think about football until next week. Slowly gain anticipation for basketball or hockey season instead.
SOUTH: If you get up in time for church, you smell like bourbon and listen to a football-related sermon, then run home to watch all the press conferences, team football shows and coach interviews that you recorded while you were at church. Eat, sleep and breathe college football until January.
[Y'all, I wish I was kidding, but these are all pretty much true!! As for the lightbulb jokes below, we have all got to learn to laugh at ourselves, right?]
Nothing else in the universe comes even halfway close to the glories of Southern football! And for SEC Fans:
HOW MANY SEC STUDENTS DOES IT TAKE TO CHANGE A LIGHT BULB?
At VANDERBILT: It takes two, one to change the bulb and one more to explain how they did it every bit as good as the bulbs changed at Harvard.
At GEORGIA: It takes two, one to change the bulb and one to stabilize the rolling beer cooler the bulb changer is using for a ladder.
At FLORIDA: It takes four, one to screw in the bulb and three to figure out how to get stoned off the old one.
At ALABAMA: It takes five, one to change it, three to reminisce about how The Bear would have done it, and one to throw the old bulb at an NCAA investigator.
At OLE MISS: It takes six, one to change it, two to mix the drinks and three to find the perfect J. Crew outfit to wear for the occasion.
At LSU: It takes seven, and each one gets credit for five Semester hours.
At KENTUCKY: It takes eight, one to screw it in and seven to discuss how much brighter it seems to shine during basketball season.
At TENNESSEE: It takes ten, two to figure out how to screw it in, two to buy an orange lampshade, and six to phone a radio call-in show and talk about how much they hate Alabama.
At MISSISSIPPI STATE: It takes fifteen, one to screw in the bulb, two to buy the Skoal, and twelve to yell, “GO TO HELL, OLE MISS".
At AUBURN: It takes one hundred, one to change it, forty-nine to talk about how they did it better than at Bama and Georgia, and fifty to get drunk and roll Toomer's Corner when finished.
At SOUTH CAROLINA: It takes 80,000, one to screw it in and 79,999 to discuss how this finally will be the year that they have a decent football team.
At ARKANSAS: None. There is no electricity in Arkansas.
CN is recording the South Carolina/Vandy game for me right now. I can't wait to run home after work and go watch it!!! Go Cocks!!
Unfortunately, I don't know if the Alabama game will be televised on Saturday...but it's ok. I'm sure I will read all about it in the paper! You'd have to live under a rock to get away from SEC football down here. :)

Another Fun Friday
Ok, I have been saving up for this one. (I've been having a hard time finding FF stuff lately...)
How awesome is this blog??? Gotta love analytical people with a sense of humor. And I love that you can buy the tshirts. All the Boolean logic and Venn diagrams appeal to the librarian in me. And unless you're a librarian, you might be lost right now. Venn diagrams are something that librarians geek out on. I can totally explain them to you. No? Fine, suit yourself.
And for the record, I understand everything in the Boolean entry linked just now. Everything. It's crystal clear to me. As long as you take all the numbers out.
Do you remember typewriters? Cameras with flash bulbs that would burn out? How about floppy disks that were actually floppy? Or car phones? Have you ever wondered when things we use now will be only a distant memory? (I personally think compact discs are soon to be on the chopping block.) The Extinction Timeline predicts when things will become obsolete in our society. Tip: To get a better view of the graph image, you need to click on it. (My boss sent it to me because it predicts that libraries will be obsolete in the next 20 years. WTF?! As if!)
CN had a job interview on Wednesday. I sent him this Tony Little/Geico video, because it cracks me up, and I'm always yelling, "You can dooooowit!!!!!" So all week, I have been telling him the he can "doooowit!"
I found this website, Married to the Sea, through Toothpaste for Dinner. Both are great websites full of wacky comics. Some of them leave me scratching my head, but some of them leave me in stitches. Enjoy!
Have a great weekend, everyone! Happy Easter!

It's Friday!!!
Time for something fun!!!! YAY!! Weekend!!!
CN and I love this commercial, and we have started to say, "What the French, Toast?" to each other. *snicker* Hope you think it's as funny as we do.
CN told me about these next two videos. He said that I'm lucky Kelly doesn't live near here, or else I would have serious competition. *rolls eyes* My coworkers think they are a riot, but MJ doesn't think they are funny. All I know is, I can't stop saying, "Lemme borrow that top!"
*WARNING: These are NOT suitable for work or children! So turn your speakers down!*
Ok, I am STILL laughing about these Kelly videos, and I've watched them at least 5 times. This guy (whoever he is) needs to make more Kelly videos. Or else I will "betchslap" the stupid outta him!
Well, we all know this weekend is The Superbowl! This year I am hoping the Giants will win. My fam is full of Colts fans, so rooting for the Giants is as close as we can get. Besides, I like to root for underdogs. Although, Tom Brady is pretty hot.......OMG, girls, have you checked out the new Stetson ads? Yee-Ha, Cowboy! *faints into puddle on floor*
Where was I? Oh yeah. If you want to see some of the commercials that will air, check out this site.
Who are you cheering on in The Big Game? Do you have any fun plans?

First Fun Friday of 2008
I don't know about y'all, but this week has draaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaagged.
It is only through the little Fun Friday-type tidbits that I make it through weeks like this.
1. Take for example, this AMAZING concept: losing weight by writing. Yeah. It's a new diet. Talk about my kinda diet! Sign me up! I can actually see how it would help to get your emotions out on paper so you don't smother them with food instead. It makes sense. Unfortunately, I'm not an emotional eater. In fact, when I'm upset, I stop eating. But I digress.
2. Over the holidays, my cousin (son of Favorite Aunt) proposed to his girlfriend. I have not met the bride-to-be yet, but Favorite Aunt adores her, and the bride's family adores my cousin, so everyone is happy and excited about this news. We haven't had a wedding in our family in several years, so this is really great. It turns out that the bride-to-be comes from a well-to-do Chicago family (ie, her parents paid for her out-of-state college tuition without using ANY loans), so the wedding should be pretty snazzy. It will be in May of 2009, and I'm already excited about it. My cousin is a sweetheart, not to mention super smart and ambitious.
It runs in the family, don't ya know.
I promise I'm going somewhere with this. I am really hoping that the bride doesn't have a wedding cake like this one, because this is just creepy as hell, not to mention, ego-maniacal.
3. And thanks to MJ for sending me this hysterical video today. Apparently, there's a whole series of these on YouTube, but I have never heard of them. I will probably be spending the rest of the afternoon watching them, though...[Warning: arachnophobes should skip this!]
4. Now here's a cool concept: Ever wish you could sort of test-drive your dream job? It turns out, you CAN!!! Which is a very exciting concept, especially if you are pretty much always looking for a job that is nothing like your current one, like *someone* I know. (Shhh!) I haven't read the fine print yet, but I think this is a free service. [Update: Ok, yeah, it costs an arm and a leg! Sorry! You basically buy a package where you get a couple of days job shadowing someone in that career.] Check out Vocation Vacation if you are interested.
5. Oh! If you love your pooch, or if you have a friend who loves their pooch, you may want to check out this other website recommended to me: SitStay. It has everything for dogs, from soup to nuts. Er, make that treats to beds. Or whatever. You know what I mean. It's nice to find websites for stuff like this, because PetSmart just doesn't have everything you need.
6. Before I go, I am going to tell you my most recent dream -- I have had a bunch of wacked-out dreams this week. I think someone was yelling at me in one dream, and something bad happened to Sammy in another. I can't really remember.
Luckily, I can only remember this one. It was nice. I dreamt that my grandfather (The Czarina's dad), whom I've never met, came over to me and said, "But I've given you $2,500! It's right over there!" And then he showed me a big stack of money! I was so excited, and I ran over to him and gave him a great big hug.
Hmmm...sounds like I need to check my lottery ticket I bought the other day, huh?
I hope everyone has a great weekend!!!! Happy Friday!!

Fun Friday!
I found some interesting websites this week....kind of weird ones...
You know what you believe in, right? Well, if you've ever wondered what religion most closely matches your beliefs, you may want to check out the Belief-o-Matic. (I am supposed to be an Orthodox Quaker, apparently....who knew???)
When you're sick, do you ever wonder if you've "caught that bug that's going around"? Ever wonder how many other people nearby also called in sick that day? Or are you just sick and stuck at home, bored? Check out Who Is Sick.
Are you one of those people who likes to make up words? Then check out Verbotomy. Every day there is a new challenge, where you read the definition and create a verb for it. Or, browse the archives of made-up words that aren't in the dictionary, but probably should be.
Ok, I don't know how to describe this music site, but it's one part online radio station, one part Pandora (which is also a cool site, btw). Only you can tell it what kind of mood you're in, and it will play appropriate songs. Did I mention you can limit it to decade? Or genre? Or that every song has a direct link to Amazon, in case you want to buy the album? Or that the site is free and full of pretty colors??? You don't even have to do one of those stupid registrations for username/passwords!! It's wicked cool! I love Musicovery!!!! (As I am typing this, I am enjoying Prince's "1999".)
Last but not least....I was tempted to devote an entire blog post just to this site, because I bet all of your comments will be discussing this one:
Do you have a young, virginal daughter you'd like to marry off to the highest bidder, preferably before she discovers high school boys? Then you need to submit her profile and price on Marry Our Daughter. I wish I were kidding, folks, but I think this site is legit. There are some effed up people out there, huh? Make sure you read the "testimonials" -- they are SO wrong.... [Note: This site has server problems, I think. Just hit your refresh button until the site pops up.]
Have a great weekend, everyone!!!

Fun Friday!
No, I haven't talked to Cute Neighbor yet. I'm pretty good at procrastinating, huh? I will do it. I promise. Hey! Why don't you believe me??? :)
Oh, and remember how Hot Neighbor and Hoochie McSkankerton supposedly broke up? Yeah, she was over at his house last night. So he can bite me. I am over it. All efforts will now be focused on Cute Neighbor, as Hot Neighbor apparently has no clue what the hell he wants. Either that, or he's got Jerry Maguire syndrome, ie, he cannot be alone.
For Fun Friday today, I present to you some videos from this cool show my coworker, LK, has gotten me hooked on. His name is Derren Brown, and he is this magician/psychologist/hypnotist type of guy. He does the most amazing things on his show. Check out two of my favorites.
If this guy is for real, he's totally amazing! His show is nothing but crazy mind-f**ks like this.
This series of videos (there are 5 total, I think) are the silliest, most random things I've ever seen. And they make me howl with laughter every time I watch them. MJ and I love to sing the theme song.
And if you love hot pockets as much as I do, then we have something in common with Jim Gaffigan.
Have a nice, long weekend, guys! Hopefully, this time tomorrow, I'll be tailgating at the game with CN...
Can someone remind me to post the story about dinner last night??? Preview: I am apparently a trend setter, Rob Thomas is a douchebag...and I discovered a Man Buffet. So, um, stay tuned.

Friday 13? We All Want Ice Cream!
This is a combo Fun Friday/Thursday 13 post.
I'll be alone most of this weekend, so I have been thinking of fun things to do. Most of them involve eating ice cream. I pretty much have ice cream on the brain. There should be a 12 Step Program for people like me. It must be the heat....we have had a really bad heat wave here for about 2 weeks--we have broken a few records, actually. We have been approaching 120 degrees, if you include heat index. Yowza. We are cooking to death down here. It makes me want to lay around and eat ice cream.

We have been approaching 120 degrees, if you include heat index. Yowza. We are cooking to death down here. It makes me want to lay around and eat ice cream.
Thirteen Ways I Can Incorporate Ice Cream Into My Weekend
1. Sleep in! Woo Hoo! No plans means I don't have any reason to get up early! Hmmm. Vanilla ice cream for breakfast......I could put um, granola on top of it. That's kinda breakfasty. Ooh! I know! Coffee ice cream!
2. Continue reading The Game and The Mystery Method so I can learn more about all this Pick Up Artist (PUA) business. (See last few posts if you don't know what I'm talking about.) This may or may not involve a solo trip to Starbuck's. I've been craving my vanilla latte. Or maybe I could go to Bruster's Ice Cream and read there....hmmmmm....Cookies n Cream sounds good...
3. Finish watching Season 2 of HBO's Big Love (thank you, HBO on Demand!!!). While eating the new Ben & Jerry's flavor: Creme Brulee. I just found out about it. And creme brulee is my ALL TIME favorite dessert, so to put it into an ice cream format pretty much just blows my mind right now.
4. Hit the gym. I have been stuck at this weight for at least a month. I wonder if my recent ice cream addiction is playing a role in this.....
5. Stay cool: long cold showers, drink Perrier lime (THE most refreshing drink ever), see if I can find a friend who has lake/pool connections, enjoy being scantily-clad as I lay around in my air-conditioned house...and of course, eat more ice cream. I think I'm out of caramel sauce...wait, don't I have some leftover toffee bits laying around somewhere??
6. Continue NOT being a smoker. Three weeks and counting. Go me! I believe I have replaced nicotine with frozen dairy products in my life. Aargh. (Seriously, why can I not stop eating ice cream????) Coping with this makes me want chocolate. Ooh, brownie chunks...in the ice cream...*drools*
7. Oh! This reminds me of one of my all-time favorite comedy skits! (from Eddie Murphy's Delierious -- if you have never rented this, you MUST!)
8. I could go to the Art Museum here in town. I cannot believe I was practically an art major and have never been! It's free on Saturdays....yay!! FINALLY! And it's near the downtown branch of Marble Slab Creamery. Since I always have "ice cream order envy", I will get what MJ got last time: Swiss Chocolate with peanut butter cups in it. Note to self: always order AFTER your friends do. You always wish you'd ordered what they got.
Oh who am I kidding. I love their lemon custard. I'll probably get that.
9. Stare at Hot Neighbor and Cute Neighbor through my front windows. I may or may not put on clothes to do this...although, they might not want to look at me, because if I keep eating ice cream, I will look like this guy:
10. Enjoy what will hopefully be my last scantily-clad weekend, as E is probably going to be my new roommate soon! YAY for not being extremely poor anymore! Now I can buy more ice cream!
11. Ok, this one has nothing to do with ice cream. I just wanted to share. Have you seen these videos? Hilarious! Long live Will Ferrell!
Video #1
Video #2
12. Continuing on with my ice cream theme...check out this list of 101 disgusting ice cream flavors. They really exist! And now I want to know what the hell is wrong with Japanese people. Can someone please explain to me how anyone could like this stuff??? Salad flavored? Curry? Mustard? Squid Ink? Raw Horseflesh??? EWWWW
13. Like me, this lady seems to be substituting her love life with an ice cream addiction...

Fun Friday: Bad Dates
There's no point in talking about all of this unless we are going to have a good laugh out of it, right?
This is pretty bad....I can only imagine how uncomfortable the guy must have felt.
There's something to be said for being too honest...
Of course, halfway through all of these posts, I discovered that one of my favorite bloggers, Charming But Single, recently wrote similar posts. Only she's a much better writer than I am, so you might want to see what she says:
Five Things I Should Know by the End of Our First Date
Five Things I Should Not Know by the End of Our First Date
I thought this was a good article for guys to read -- Ten Signs You've Been Single for Too Long. Cute Neighbor has 4 that I'm aware of......yeesh.
Have nice weekends, everyone! If I don't post by Tuesday, that means I've been cooked to death in this horrible heat wave! Seriously, our heat index today is about 116. No joke! One radio station here in town is even playing Christmas carols today to at least attempt at helping people stay cool!

Fun Friday!
Yay! Ok, I have been saving up for this one.
1. Do you know any packrats? I bet they aren't nearly as bad as this woman. (I forget where I found this...apologies for not crediting someone...)
2. If you truly hate someone, you can damn them!! Check out You Are Damned! (If you don't want to damn anyone, you can just go and read the damn wall -- there are some funny ones!)
3. Ever wanted to make your own internet cartoons? Now you can!
4. Are you one of those weird people like me who likes it when people tell you what to write about? If so, this site gives you 365 writing prompts -- one for every day of the year! If that sounds a little too limiting to you, maybe you would like to try a 6 Word Story. According to the article, Hemingway's favorite story he ever wrote consisted of only 6 words: "For sale: baby shoes, never worn." -- Neat, huh?
Have nice weekends, everyone!!!!

Fun Friday!!
I haven't run into much lately, so it's taken me a while to have enough for a good Fun Friday post.
1. Is this lady for real???? I thought I was a dork with no life, but she's got me beat. She gave up her Tea Towel Club for Lent, people. I think I gave up sex for Lent....
2. Some recent search terms from my statcounter (ie, terms people entered into Google that led them to my blog):
A lot of them make sense:
"stories of smooching boobs for fun"
"washcloth germs" -- my phobias are shared! I'm not alone!
"long toes"
"reason for a long toe"
"morphed male balls"
"men with 3 balls"--I do talk about balls a lot...
"wide hips/saddlebags"--something I've been known to bitch about on occassion
"how to tell if you're a bad listener" -- something I've wondered about on here
"smokin hot neighbor photo" -- oh wait. I googled that.....
"my hot neighbor" -- i googled that one too, probably...
"big boobs"
"mormons and jello"--others share my curiosity!
"julian mcmahon"
"treadmill playlists"
"virginia belle stripper"
"virginia belle sex machine" --wow. what an ironic reputation....
"what do women think of jockstraps?"-- I also like to wonder about jockstraps...
"one ton man" -- I posted once about a show on TLC called "I Eat 33,000 Calories a Day"
"give yourself diabetes" -- I'm curious to know how that one turned out...
"anna nicole smith" -- from my "I love vicodin" posts...
"snogs" -- I do love my British slang.
"eating the same thing everyday"-- Yup. Do that, too.
"single dads dating"-- Hot Neighbor!
"dating hn"-- stupid skanks are trying to google my Hot Neighbor!!
"cute sex movie"-- three of my favorite words.
"jessica simpson short legs kankles"-- I have mentioned JS on here before. And perhaps kankles.
Some do not make sense...:
"tuna drainer" -- have never discussed tuna or drainers on this blog.
"i like bukkake" --WTF is bukkake?? Note to self: google bukkake
"are anchovies poisonous to dogs?" -- have never discussed anchovies on here....
"what happens when you boil spandex?" --why would you EVER need to know this??
And some beg for clarification or a story:
"lonely married guy, columbia, SC"
"met him at sky tower, doesn't like blondes anyway"
"send my misses [sic] a dirty text"
"pink puncher" -- is this some sick sexual act I'm not familiar with? I've gotten this one like 3 times
"perfect dating bobby knock" -- I'd like to meet this Bobby Knock character...
"weirdest things put in assholes" -- WOW.
"anorexic eat bath sponges"-- now there's an urban legend I've never heard.
"my son's dating a skank"
"do not date a skank"--skanks are apparently causing trouble for others, not just me. Good to know.
"marriage to someone with OCD"
"MRSA and lapdances"
"embarrassing give him acrylic nails"--WTF??
Lately, I've been getting some more perverted ones:
"virgin beavers"
"pictures of man kiss woman virgina [sic]" -- Hmmm...I wonder what a virgina is??
3. My coworker found these videos about information literacy (ie, learning how to use a library, cite sources and find good information). They crack me up! The last one is especially funny -- I love how the game show contestant talks! "hello!" "okay!" etc. I believe they come from Rutgers, and based on these videos, I can say there are some hard-working and smart librarians up there. The videos do a good job at making it easy to understand. In case you were curious, the stuff in these videos is what I teach people all day.
That's all I've got today in the way of Fun Friday. Not the best, I know. I have a good excuse, though. I was sick all day yesterday. [Insert "Awww!" here.] I think I had food poisoning or something, because I had a fever, I was achy and I had....gastro-intestinal issues. Ugh, I felt terrible all day. I'm mostly better now, but I still have zero interest in eating anything (which, I guess is good, right?). I'm kinda dizzy, still slightly icky and weak-feeling. All I want is diet Sprite. I love that when I'm sick.
I need to ask my readers a question. I need some advice, I guess. I am seriously considering getting Sammy a sibling. For those of you with two pets, do you have any tips or warnings for me? How did you go about it? I am thinking that since Sammy is fairly dominant, I should probably get a dog that will stick up for itself. Otherwise, he will just intimidate it to death. I'm also thinking of getting a female dog this time....so if you can advise me on this, I'd love to know. Thanks!
Hot Neighbor has been gone for a week, people. I am having major withdrawls. I don't know where he is, I assume a work-related trip. He wouldn't be on some Caribbean vacation with a Skank, now would he??? Right? Of course not. He's away on business, planning on how he can seduce me.
Oh well. Hopefully tonight I will see the cute guy from last week's Happy Hour. There are plenty of fish in the sea, right? And then tomorrow is the annual St. Patty's Day festival -- SO much fun. I will get to see one of my favorite local bands play twice! Yesssss!!!
Ok, well, my weekend is starting early-- we are so dead in here, my boss just told us we can all go home! Woot! Gotta love Spring Break!!!

Fun Friday!!
Yay! It's Friday!!!
I have a special treat for my readers today. A pic of my family. Well, part of my family. Here goes.
This is Fungus on the left and Fat Dog on the right. Back when we were little, we lived in a super-old farmhouse, waaaaaay out in the Virginia countryside. My brothers played T-ball every summer. This is a picture of them after they both played games one day.

I had forgotten that when Fungus was little, we used to call him "Nino". This was because he couldn't say, "I know!" -- it would come out as "Nino!" and was so cute, the nickname kinda stuck. We used to say silly things to him all the time-- "Fungus, the sky is blue." or "Fungus, you're three years old." and Fungus would roll his eyes at us and say, "NiNO!" --And we would all laugh.
They look like dorks in this picture. Then again, I'm their big sister, so they will always look like dorks to me.
This video was funny, mostly because of how accurate it is. I always thought I was the only woman who "adjusted her boobs" and studied her physique while waiting for the water to heat up. And none of the stuff the guy does surprises me one bit. Like most male behavior, some of it is gross and some of it is kinda cute. I like the "woo-woo!" part.
Guys, when you are out and about this weekend, don't be these guys:

Thanks to eBaum's World for the videos!
Have a nice weekend, everyone!!

Hello? Fun Friday?
Ok, Blogger just made me switch. I had no choice, I promise! The good news is, now I can put labels on my posts, like "Why I'm Weird" or "Freakishly Long Toes" or "Asshole". Cool!
I'm all about organization.
The bad news? I'm worried this messed up my RSS feed. So if you're used to getting me via your feed reader, and this blog isn't feeding anymore, please tell me so I can throw a hissy.
So today I'm wondering just how bad this month can get. Not only do I and some of my friends have man problems, (seriously, was there an Asshole Convention or something??) but last night I got pulled over. Oh wait, the cop was a man. I'll just add him to the list, too. Whoop-de-friggin do.
Like a complete moron, I was going 50 in a 35. (I was so hungry, all I was thinking about was eating. I know, so lame. He didn't buy it either. But I was seriously starved!) So I wasn't paying attention. Now I'm looking at 4 points and $180 if I don't show up at my court date. If I do show up, he'll "help me out", whatever the hell that means. He'll change it to 2 points? Lowered fine? He'll go fuck himself?
Guess I'll find out. But what I want to know is, why not just lower the damn points now??? It's not like I'm not going to show up. Just save everyone some trouble and do it now, jerkface.
When he was writing me the ticket, all I could think was, "OMG, this is karma in action! This is what I get for ratting out Repo!!!!" And then I thought, "Well, if so, then this is worth it."
But now I'm thinking this is maybe what I get for telling Cop 2 I didn't see it going anywhere??
Karma is one mysterious bitch. With a lot of explaining to do.
Anyway, TGIF. This week was the longest week ever. It just dragged for me. But now it's weekend time! I have lots of plans with all my wonderful girls. I just love them all to death. So I'm excited. Oh, I just remembered I have new shoes I can wear, too. *happy sigh*
K is out of town, so Sammy and I have the house to ourselves. Aside from playing with my iPod and retrospectively labeling all my posts (shut up, I am anal) , I'll clean the pigsty that is my room, catch up on some episodes of Rome, use up the rest of my disposable camera and hit the gym.
Why am I telling you this? See, I told you my life is pretty ho-hum right now. I apologize. To make up for it, I have some Fun Friday links for you:
Ask a Ninja (too freakin' funny! Plus, you can download episodes from iTunes)
Sticker Giant (If you like Cafe Press, you'll love this one. Click on "Fridge Magnets" and then "Retro Funny"-- you will die. My favorite? "Your proctologist called. They found your head.")
Bored with your playlist? Want to see what other people are listening to? Check out fitPod. It has tons of playlists you can check out so your next workout won't be so boring. Also check out FIQL for playlists of all types. They have even more.
Finally, I am sharing a video with you. Not surprisingly, what I find funny is usually not appropriate at work or around children. If this doesn't bother you either, then you have something in common with Margaret Cho, too.
Have a good weekend, guys!!!

Fun Friday
Gosh, I haven't done one of these in a while. Here goes...
This is a fun little test which tells you how smart you are, compared to all the other idiots living in this country.
These guys have entirely too much time on their hands. Enough time to conduct experiments with Diet Coke and Mentos...
If you are as big of a Ricky Gervais fan as I am, then you have to check out his website. Obviously. There are links to some free podcasts, too! (Guess how I'll be spending the next few minutes...) Did I mention that his book, The World According to Karl Pilkington has kept me and Lady Starfish in stitches all week? It's a scream.
And, under the Why Does this Website Exist? category, I present to you Tampon Crafts. "For any time of the month."
Finally, there's a video on this site called "Tacos Rule" and it's pretty funny. Good thing we don't solve office disputes this way. Although, it would make work more interesting...And wouldn't it be great if we had Jedi powers??
Much thanks to my coworker, L, for most of these recommendations.
Have a great weekend, everyone! I'll be deep in the bowels of hospitality this weekend. A recap of my housewarming party will follow. Cross your fingers that I actually take pictures. You know how I always forget. And no, my digital camera still isn't here. Considering I ordered it in mid-November, I am starting to think this is getting ridiculous.

Fun Friday!
OMG, I haven't done this in so long! I have been too busy with house stuff.
Ok, here goes.
Actually, first I will share some of my most recent additions to my ever-expanding shoe collection:

The ones I got were more of a pewter color, rather than these bronze ones pictured here. I already wear them constantly.

I got the gold ones to go with a red dress I have. My earrings match perfectly.

I wore my old boots to death, so these are replacements. (Rawr!)
On to the links...
This one was actually recommended to me by the authors. They emailed me about their blog, called How Not to Be Dreadful. I love it! The best part is, they take questions you submit to them. If they like it, they will answer it. I have no idea how they found me. But I'm glad they did.
This one is courtesy of Stephanie at Pickleness. The first time I went here, I almost had a hernia I was laughing so hard. I completely ruined my eye makeup because of the tears running down my face. So check it out: Engrish.
My coworker sent me a link to this next one. It's sort of a myspace for readers--you can leave reviews, show others what you have read and see what other people are reading. I think it's free. So why not check it out?. Shelfari. I think I will. I bet you can put a link on your blog to your "shelf" of book reviews....cool.
You guys probably know all about these already. I am usually behind the trend tide!
This weekend I am hanging out with MJ and her houseguests. Tonight, we hit the bars to show her NY friends around town. Tomorrow is her housewarming par-tay/cookout. MJ and KT say that their NY guy pals are pretty cute. That is why I am planning on seducing them with homemade cookies at the cookout. Lol.
Then Sunday I am going out with Cop 2. He said he's surprising me. Woo-hoo! He said something about miniature golf...we will see. Sounds good to me!
Speaking of Cop 2, how about he offered to help me paint my bedroom and bathroom? Yeah. We were on the phone last night and I was telling him about how I am going to go buy some paint this weekend. He offered to help and then said, "Yeah, I will see if I can take some time off from work to help you. I have tons of vacation days anyway." Very sweet. Who does that??
This, of course, means that something is probably wrong with him...
I have saved the biggest news for last: Lady Starfish is coming for a visit next week!!! She got a new job and has to do some training here in Columbia for a few days. So I get to be Hostess VB and show her around and introduce her to everyone. Which is very exciting, as some of my friends doubt her existance. You see, she has not visited me in a long, long time. And now I have so many new friends and great restaurants to show her. Plus, she gets to meet Sammy and see my house. Can't wait!
Ok, I have to go update by sidebar now...have a great weekend!!!!

Quickie #2/ Fun Friday
Random tidbits in my brain:
1. Well, I've never had a better excuse to eat pizza rather than salad. Woo-hoo! I get to throw away all my yucky salad when I go home. Papa John's, here I come!
2. The reason why you can hate me now: I am going to fill up my gas tank this weekend. For $2.20 per gallon.
3. Have I told you that I am almost murdered every day? It's true. When I am on my lunch break, there is always some wack-job trying to run me off the road. It is bizarre. I've been cut off, I've had to switch lanes to avoid an accident, I've wanted to flip the bird...you name it. Seriously, if you saw how these people drive, you'd be fearing for your life, too. It has happened enough that I notice it and brace myself for it. Today, I turned a corner, and came face to face with an ambulance headed straight for me. It was obviously answering a call, and I had heard it, but I assumed it was the police car up ahead of me. Then I turned the corner and HOLY SCHNIKES!!!! Seriously, I almost had a head on. The wierd thing is, it only happens on my lunch break. I wonder what the universe is trying to tell me. Maybe, "Eat like it is your last meal!"
4. This is hilarious. Yet totally disgusting at the same time. Just my kind of site. Thanks to Evel for sharing. I wonder what Steve will eat next.
5. This is disgusting. Yet totally hilarious at the same time. You have to read the police report to get the funny bits. Ever read this site? It is great! Every day they have the craziest stories.
6. Sammy is getting his teeth cleaned today. So far, they haven't called me to say they are doing any extractions, which is good. He seemed confused that he was going for a ride so early in the morning (I had to drop him off before work), but once he was there, he seemed to want to say, "Cool! Where are we going, nice Vet Tech lady?" And I was forgotten. No goodbyes, no whining. This must be how mothers feel when they drop their kid off at kindergarted for the first time.
7. They actually spelled my name right at Starbuck's today. I think that is a first.
8. Did I tell you about Dr. Cluck, the chicken my little sister, Smurf, had as a pet? (Background: Fungus worked at a chicken farm last summer. He managed to get a baby chick and bring it home as a pet for her. She, ever so wittingly, named the chicken Dr. Cluck.) Well, apparently Czarina found the carcass today in the yard. She thinks a fox got Dr. Cluck. "Let me put it to you this way," she said, "I'm not going to be eating chicken for a looooong time." RIP, Dr. Cluck.
9. More Smurf news: The homecoming dance is coming up. She was asked to the dance by a guy in the grade above her (!!!!). I was getting really excited about this story, until Czarina added: "...but she said she can't go with him because they don't know each other well enough." This is making me seriously doubt my supposed genetic relationship with her. Turn down? A date? To a dance???? Is she high??
When I was her age, I was so desperate for male attention, I would have gone to the dance with the Hunchback of Notre Dame if he had asked me. I don't even know what to say. I am just shaking my head. (My theory is that the guy was a major dork/jerk and it would have been social suicide to be seen in public with him.)
How am I supposed to re-live high school if she doesn't do what I would do???
10. [This one is for fellow college football fans. You can skip it otherwise.] Have you heard this story? And let me tell ya what--our QB really doesn't have room to be messing around like this. He isn't the best QB I've ever seen. He actually kinda sucks. My coworker and I believe that the bouncer must have said a snide comment to him about his poor playing in the last game, and that started the fight. Anyway, he is suspended for this week's game, but I heard he will be back next week. And for the love of Pete, I wish he'd get a different haircut. What is that??
Again, I say, what is up with the drunken bar fighting, men???? So stupid.
Have a great weekend, guys! I hope there are none of the following in your weekends: dead chickens, bar fights, E. coli, expensive gas, animal love, pulled teeth, disgusting food or head-on collisions with ambulances.

Fun Friday
Ok, this will be more fun for me than for you. I stole 2 memes from Anne.
Things that scare me.
1. Crickets
2. heights (but funny enough, I am cool with flying!)
3. cooking large hunks of meat. If you screw it up, there goes dinner. If you don't cook it long enough, it's still raw in the middle. And don't even get me started on all the different cuts of meat. So freaking confusing.
People who make me laugh.
1. Sam over at Sam's Stories
2. Lady Starfish
3. Mrs. Boston
Things I hate most.
1. People who read over my shoulder
2. Inefficiency. Drives me bananas.
3. When someone says, "Whatever!" to me. Totally rude and disrespectful.
Things I don't understand.
1. How people get started on highly addictive, illegal substances. I mean, at some point, they have said, "Yeah! Put the needle in my arm! That's a great idea!"
2. Why some people are terrified of libraries
3. How some people I've met never seem to eat. Not in an anorexic kind of way, but they just seem to forget to eat. Everyone at the beach was like that last weekend. K and I kept looking at each other, saying, "When do these people eat? Why are we the only hungry people?"
Things I'm doing right now.
1. Worrying about my dog
2. Keeping a major secret and trying to decide what to do about it
3. Mentally making my weekend plans: game watching, cooking, going to the gym...
Things I want to do before I die.
1. Do more traveling
2. Go platinum blonde
3. Have lots of kids, even if it means owning 10 dogs
Things I can do.
1. Line my eyes with liquid eyeliner (it's harder than you think)
2. Drive stick shift
3. Stick up for myself when I've had enough
Ways to describe my personality.
1. Sarcastic
2. Friendly
3. Outgoing
4. Efficient (Anne did 4 here, so I guess that is legal..)
Things I can't do.
1. Make someone feel the same way about me as I do about them
2. Balance my checkbook--Why am I off by $4.12???? There is no logical reason.
3. Look good in brown
Things I think you should listen to.
1. Your gut instinct
2. Your mother
3. Your doctor
Things you should never listen to.
1. Your ex
2. A liar
3. Anyone saying something that sounds too good to be true.
Things I'd like to learn.
1. Several foreign languages
2. How to read people's minds
3. How to fix my car all by myself, or at least know when I'm being overcharged.
Favorite foods.
1.ice cream
2. cheese
3. fried chicken
Beverages I drink regularly.
1. coffee
2. diet coke
3. cranberry juice
Shows I watched as a kid.
1. G.I. Joe
2. Mission Impossible
3. He-Man
4. Transformers
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
8 Facts/Things/Habits about me.
1. I have animals in my dreams a LOT. I recently dreamt that I was being chased by a bear. And Hilary Swank drove up in a car and rescued me. Weird. The celebrity-in-your-dream thing is new for me. I have been having them a lot, lately.
2. I secretly have no desire to ever quit smoking. I love cigarettes. But I still try to quit because it's good for me.
3. There are certain things I'm willing to pay someone to do so I don't have to fool with it myself: cut/color my hair, squeeze my dog's butt, alter my clothes, steam clean my carpets, do my taxes.
4. I hate it when people (anyone) see me without makeup. Even my mother.
5. I hold very, very few grudges. If I do, it is because the person betrayed me in some way. Disloyalty is the ultimate sin in my book.
6. If money were no object, I would get acrylic nails and keep them on for the rest of my life. Yes, I know they are kinda tacky, but I like them anyway.
7. No matter how out-of-style they become, I will always wear the following: big earrings, frosty pink lipstick, high heels and fitted turtlenecks. Not necessarily all the time or all at once, though.
8. Lately, when something bad happens to me, I am convinced it is God's way of punishing me for not going to church anymore. So I apologize to Him a lot and make promises I may or may not keep.

Fun Friday!
Before I leave town for the weekend (I'm spending it with Ernesto), I will leave y'all with a funny video I came across this week....enjoy!
I will continue to catch up on blogs when I get back. Charming, Vixen, Modigli, et al -- I'm chipping away at it ever so slowly, trust me! And soon I will only be about a week behind on everyone's.....thanks for your patience!
This dog is the same breed as Sammy. Luckily, my dog isn't this...excited.
Ok, I have to go! Sorry so short. Talk to you when I get back!

Fun Friday
You think you're having a bad day? Check this out.
This guy is such a dork. You have to watch these videos. I guarantee lots of eye rolling.
This weekend in SC is the Tax-Free Weekend. Basically, anything you would normally buy for back to school or off to college is tax-free. People here go nuts over saving $3.45. It is pandemonium. And I will not be participating. Because it's a pain in the butt. All the mothers (no offense) bring all their kids and make them shop all day, so there are 75% more people at the mall and they are all arguing with their mothers. This really kills my shopping buzz.
The crazy part is, the list of things that are taxable and tax-exempt makes no sense. Example: this weekend, wedding dresses and adult diapers are tax-free. So are printers. But not the ink cartridges. Or dayplanners. WTF? It makes no sense. If you really want to see the craziness that is the list, you can look at it here. (It's a pdf)
If you are in SC this weekend, and you want to buy a computer, you will actually save a lot of moolah. Otherwise, skip it.
Sorry this is kinda lame. I'm typing this 2 minutes before closing time, so I am rushed. Hope everyone has good weekends! I will definitely have stuff to share on Monday. But I'll leave you hanging until then.

Fun Friday
I did not intend for this to happen, but this week's Fun Friday theme is drugs. Gypsy started it. Please do not think that there is a reason for this. It's just a coincidence. I'm not taking any vicodins! Pinky swear!
Gypsy posted the most hilarious story today, and so I am using it for my Fun Friday link. You can read it here. It is about her Phish concert experience. Lancelot is her boyfriend. Her blog rocks, if you are in need of even more entertainment.
And continuing on with our drug theme...
I saw this cartoon on Saturday Night Live a while back and I almost died laughing. Clear evidence that Anna Nicole was on Vicodin. I behaved...similarly when I was on it. Note: This video is probably not work or kid-appropriate.
Ok, fun time over. I am going to Nurse P's house tomorrow. She has a little Westie named Jack. He looks like this picture. He and Sammy are going to have playtime. One of her friends is bringing a third dog, too--another boston terrier! I am so excited. I think Brunette is bringing her gigantic Golden Retriever, Jackson, as well. Which should be hilarious. Nurse P is making peanut butter doggie treats for them. The mommies are going to have frozen strawberry margaritas, lay out and swim in the pool while the puppies are playing. Mine will be virgin, of course. But still yummy. I will try and take some pics. Hopefully Sammy will refrain from humping everyone. He loves to hump Jackson. Which, if you think about it, looks really really funny.
I don't know what I'm doing tonight...I decided not to go to the beach. Four hours in a car using expensive gas is just not really that much fun when you have to turn around and come back the next day. Plus, I'm kind of enjoying having the house to myself. I might just stay in and read, which sounds incredibly luxurious to me, but very lame to you, I am sure. That way, I can make a dent in my book before I watch my favorite TV show in peace. And snuggle with my little love bug.
And no, I am not referring to Repo.
I appreciate everyone's advice, but I am not quite sure what I want to do yet. This means I'm probably going to do something stupid that will blow up in my face. I am playing it by ear for now. Trust me, I am telling people I am single and I'm not waiting around for anything. I'm trying to be as pessimistic (realistic?) as possible. It's always easier for you to say it than it is for me to do it. Stay tuned.
I don't know how much I am going to continue talking about him on here anyway, because his roommate, Golf Guy, is an avid reader. (Hey, Golf Guy!) I am sure he is rolling his eyes right now as he is reading this. He keeps Repo up-to-date about what I say on here, because Repo doesn't really want to know what I say on here. I think I have been very tactful, IMHO. I haven't bashed or bitched or given away anything too personal. I don't know if GG would agree with that. But Repo doesn't want me talking about him a lot, so I will try and cut back, out of respect for his wishes. I've pretty much already said everything I want to say anyway. So unless it is good news, I will probably not talk about Repo anymore. It will help me move on. So it's all good.
K comes back from the beach tomorrow and we will probably go out. Hopefully I will have the house cleaned up before she returns. We are in some serious need of housekeeping!
I am posting to Virginia Cooks today, if anyone is interested....
Have super weekends, everyone!!! Remind me to tell you the Green story next week. Too long for now.
